Please Note: Beginning with the Platform // September 2021 release, new releases (including this one), will be designed for the next generation of the Platform. While there are some exceptions (hello, multi-factor authentication!), new features will not be available in Legacy. But never fear, we'll make sure we don't break anything in Legacy with the next generation excitement ;).
The next generation of the Platform keeps getting better, literally month-by-month. This month we've made good on our promise of additional field management tools (Hello, filtered dropdown lists!) and we're proud to introduce the improved Page Permissions (spoiler alert: it's color coded and searchable!) Not to mention a slew of enhancements, fixes, and a whole lot of polishes.
User Interface & Navigation
  • *NEW* Added panels to mobile, enabling the ability to view tasks, files, and the Audit Log from an open record. Note: The. Audit Log can be sorted "By Date" or "By Field."
  • *NEW* Added translations to Application Label Records to support current and future features. Note: The default Application Labels support Chinese, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Churches are responsible for their own translations if the default is not used.
  • Renamed the My Tasks views for clarity.
  • Widened the View dropdown menu to accommodate Views with longer names.
  • Fixed an issue where navigating between records using the Next Record or Previous Record arrows displayed the correct record, but opened the original record.
  • Fixed an issue where the User's time zone was not honored when updating a series of events.
  • Fixed an issue where the keyboard disappeared when using global search on a mobile device.
  • Fixed an issue where records created or updated via the API (for example, from Widgets, Portal, Batch Manager Tool) failed if a misconfigured Process was triggered. While the misconfigured process will still fail, it will no longer cause everything else to fail. 
  • Fixed an issue where searching "Last Name, First Initial" did not return any results on a subpage.
Records
  • *NEW* Dropdown lists can be filtered based on customized field management. A handful of filters will be included at deployment, but you can create filters that will serve your church.  
  • Enhanced the Security Roles form to make adding and editing Page Permissions a beautiful, searchable, color coded dream.
  • Enhanced the record picker dropdown menu to show up to 200 records.
  • Enhanced the Show More link to display additional text.
  • Enhanced records so that HTML formatting is honored in both edit and read mode.
  • Enhanced image resolution to be consistent throughout the Platform.
  • Added "Field Clause" field help.
  • Removed the case sensitivity from the Group Name field in Field Management. The Group Name will be styled in all caps, but if you don't type the capitalization the same way every time you create a Field Management Record, we'll still consider it a match.
  • Fixed an issue where deleting Event records resulted in a time-out error.
  • Fixed an issue where field helps appeared when the cursor was far from the text for the field.
  • Fixed an issue where the selected dropdown indicated that All Records were showing after opening a Current/Unsaved selection and then opening and closing a record in that selection, even though the Current/Unsaved selection was still being displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where a selection on the My Selections page did not persist when the page was refreshed.
  • Fixed an issue where adding or canceling adding a record, and then attempting to yet add another record triggered a warning and the screen split and duplicated itself.
  • Fixed an issue where age calculations dd not account for leap year birthdays.
  • Fixed an issue where age calculations did not account for the Date of Death field.
  • Fixed an issue where HTML mark-ups and extra spacing were added to the Alternate Label Custom Form field.
Schema
  • *NEW* Added Common SQL Indexes systems to improve performance.
  • Added the Participant Record index to the Contacts page for improved performance.
  • Fixed an issue where duplicate Foreign Key relationships on a table returned an error message.
  • Fixed an issue where string values were not showing in the Selected Record Expression.
  • Fixed an issue where selecting Rooms on the Events Rooms & Groups subpage was slow.
Files
  • Enhanced file attachments so users can indicate a default image when uploading multiple images by selecting the star icon next to the image.
  • Added the ability to attach images on a mobile device.
  • Fixed an issue where a description could not be added when editing an attached file.
  • Fixed an issue where refreshing was necessary after deleting a default image.
Messages
  • Removed the attached File Description field from the New Message Tool for clarity.
  • Updated the "Archive Messages" button to "Cancel Scheduled Message" on the Ready to Send view on the My Messages page for clarity.
  • Fixed an issue where Contact Fields could not be added to a subject line when using the New Message Tool.
  • Fixed an issues where scheduled to send messages were sent a minute after the selected send time.
Views & Notifications
  • Added a warning message when complex views are opened in the Advanced Search tool.
  • Fixed an issue where notifications sent to different users at the same time were limited by the same Global Filter.
  • Fixed an issue where "NOT" and "=" comparison values were dropped when using the Advanced Search Tool.
Reports
  • Fixed an issue where report names did not fully appear in the next generation dropdown menu.
