Platform - October 2021

 

 

Please Note: Beginning with the Platform // September 2021 release, new releases (including this one), will be designed for the next generation of the Platform. While there are some exceptions (hello, multi-factor authentication!), new features will not be available in Legacy. But never fear, we'll make sure we don't break anything in Legacy with the next generation excitement ;).
Get excited about the very cool Calendar layout available on both pages and subpages. We've also added some security features, like optional two-factor authentication and an Export Log page. And don't miss a whole lot of enhancements and some fixes. 
Configuration
  • *NEW* Added a Restart Auth App button that allows Users with Setup Admin = True to recycle the application pool, even if they do not have server access. The application pool must be recycled before updated Identity Provider configurations are available on the log-in page.  Reminder: Very few, highly trusted Users should be Setup Admins.
Layout & Navigation
  • *NEW* Added a calendar layout option that is available on both pages and subpages. What to make it even better?  Add a legend to color code your calendar!
  • *NEW* Added keys to read only pages. These keys facilitate views on read-only pages to increase their utility.
  • Added useful views to the read-only Participation Compliance page. Easily see which participants are All Clear and which ones need a little nudge.
  • Enhanced read-only Pages to take advantage of View Keys.
  • Enhanced list layout to allow sorting. Pages that include a Date Record will default to being sorted in descending date order. Pages without Date Record fields will default to being sorted in ascending alphabetical order. Even better? You can reverse the sort order with the toggle of a button. #winning Note: Some pages have date fields as part of their Selected Record Expressions. Those pages will not sort in date order.
  • Enhanced the Display Name field by making it required. Records without Display Names will be populated with either the Contact's Last Name, Nickname or the Company name.
Important! Display Name had been a required field since the beginning of the Platform, but the field was accidentally made nullable sometime in 2019. If you have done any custom development in the last two years that creates Contact records, you might not be populating the Display Name field. Please review your custom development and third party integrations, as this might be a breaking change.
  • Enhanced the Chart button to be visible on Desktop and in the menu on mobile.
  • Enhanced New Button, Action Menu, and Tools Menu placement for clarity and consistency.
  • Enhanced line graph points to match the line color for clarity.
  • Enhanced dialogs so that action button labels match their context for clarity.
  • Enhanced Announcements to allow scrolling.
  • Enhanced the Task Dialog Audit Log to scroll.
  • Removed an extra space that appeared when the New button is not available.
  • Removed gradient background from menus in the next generation of the Platform for mobile.
  • Fixed an issue where the Action Menu appeared when using the Record Picker.
  • Fixed an issue where charts with null label values showed an error.
  • Fixed an issue where using a jump link did not close the dialog, hiding the jumped-to record behind the dialog window. The dialog window will now close, allowing Users to see and access the jumped-to record.
  • Fixed an issue where result counts were not refreshed when updates to a View were saved using the Advanced Search Tool.
  • Fixed an issue with inconsistent scrolling in mobile, including lack of cursor focus.
  • Fixed an issue where accessing a direct link returned an error for some churches.
Login
  • *NEW* Added optional multi-factor authentication.
  • Added a Custom Button Text Application Label on the User Profile. The default is "My Household," but now you can update it so it works for YOUR church.
  • Enhanced Sign In to display all third party identity providers.
  • Standardized all Login and Sign In terminology.
  • Removed Password Complexity Message and Custom Button Text fields to support the Custom Button Text being enhanced to be an Application Label.
  • Fixed an issue where only the first five digits of a mobile phone number were autofilled when using the Login Widget.
  • Fixed an issue where password reset via the Login Widget were not recorded in the Audit Log.
File Mangement
  • *NEW* Added a new Export Log page to track what data is being exported and who is doing the exporting.
  • Enhanced User rights so that a User with the "Attach" rights can both add and remove attachments even if they do not have rights to edit the record.
  • Enhanced the date and time fields with an "x" button that clears both fields with the click of a button.
  • Fixed an issue where Display Names were not updating consistently.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking the clock icon overwrote both the date and time values. Clicking the clock icon will now populate both fields if they are null and overwrite the time value if it is populated.
  • Fixed an issue where announcements were not appearing in the next generation of the Platform.
  • Fixed an issue where PDF attachments with Image Width, Image Height, and Parent File ID values of "0" could not be viewed.
  • Fixed an issue where Null Participant End Date fields were erroneously updated to Null as part of the nightly Data Quality Routine.
Searching
  • Enhanced the Add Dialog/New Message Tool to handle commas included in the selected record expression.
  • Fixed an issue where Background Check views were not displaying Background Check records set to expire in the next two months.
  • Fixed an issue where a newly created Advanced Search view was not selected immediately after creation.
  • Fixed an issue where Contact page search results were truncated after using the Combine Contacts Tool.
  • Fixed an issue where the User was taken to the All Records view rather than the default view after selecting and viewing a record and then clearing the selection.
  • Fixed an issue where using "#" in a search resulted in an error message.
Schema
  • Enhanced the age calculation routine to improve system performance.
Message Management
  • Fixed an issue where the SMS number was not correctly populating in the New Message Tool.
  • Fixed an issue where the clock icon in the New Message Tool was not properly aligned.
  • Fixed an issue where toggling between Email/Text in the New Message Tool did not update where From/From SMS Number was sourced.
