Batch Manager Tool - April 2017

*Important* As a result of this update, you will need to update the Scan Tool when prompted. Also, if you use a Canon scanner, you will need to update the driver from Ranger to the native Canon driver. If you scan your checks through Remit Plus, rather than into the BMT directly, you do not need to update your driver.

Scan Tool

  • Enhanced the Scan Tool to use the native Canon driver for Canon scanners (instead of the Ranger driver). Note: If you use a Canon scanner, you will need to update your driver per the steps below. If you use a Digital Check or Epson scanner, no action is needed.
  • Enhanced the Scan Tool for Google Chrome's changes to SSL (Version 58.0.3029.81 and higher). Note: You will be prompted to update your Scan Tool per the steps below.
  • Enhanced the Scan Tool to support the Digital Teller TS-500 check scanner. See this KB for a full list of supported scanners.
Install Native Canon Scanner Driver *Canon Scanner Users Only*

If you use a Canon scanner, have a local Admin on your machine:

  1. Uninstall the Ranger driver from your system (Yes, this is important, please don't skip this step :)
  2. Go to the Canon driver website
  3. Search for your scanner model
  4. Click Go
  5. Under drivers, click on the Canon driver (not Ranger or Twain)
  6. Click Download
  7. Follow the prompt to unzip the files
  8. Open the unzipped folder
  9. Click on Setup
  10. Follow the prompts for Setup Wizard
  11. Click Next
  12. Review and accept the License Agreement
  13. Click Next
  14. Review the Destination Folder and change, if needed
  15. Click Next
  16. Click Install
  17. Click Finish
We strongly advise *not* to install the Ranger driver back on your system at this point. Having multiple drivers installed on the same machine for the same hardware can cause issues. Please use the Canon Scanner Utility, Canon driver properties, or scanner itself to make tweaks to your scanner settings and preferences. See this KB for tips.
