Donor Engagement Routine

 

Donor Record

The Donor Engagement routine updates the Donation Level and Donation Frequency fields on the Donor record nightly. This value can then be used in any user-defined views (queries).

Donation Level Configuration

We do not recommend adding additional values or changing the name of the standard value. However, a church may optionally adjust the levels to fit their culture and needs. Under System Lookups > Donation Levels:

  • Donation Level: Name of the level. Not recommend to add or edit.
  • Evaluation Days: Number of days to include in the evaluation. All levels should have the same value. Default value: 90.
  • Evaluation Order: Order in which the levels are applied. Lower numbers applied first. Order based on amount: highest amount = lowest order.
  • Minimum Donations: Donors with lower than this amount of Donations (including Soft Credit Donations) will not be given this category.
  • Evaluation Delay: Evaluation period will not include this number of days to allow for data entry lag. Default value: 7.

Updates to these values will not be reflected until the routine runs again (nightly).

Donation Level Values

The Donor Engagement routine looks at Donation activity (including Soft Credit Donations) to determine the degree to which someone is financially engaged. Values (found in System Lookups > Donation Levels) are defined as:

  • High: Last 90 days, evaluated first, minimum donation amount of $3,000, ignore last 7 days
  • Medium: Last 90 days, evaluated second, minimum donation amount of $1,500, ignore last 7 days
  • Low: Last 90 days, evaluated third, minimum donation amount of $300, ignore last 7 days
  • Minimal : Last 90 days, evaluated fourth, minimum donation amount of $0.01, ignore last 7 days
  • None: Last 90 days, evaluated last, minimum donation amount of $0, ignore last 7 days

  • Monthly: Last 90 days, evaluated third, minimum donation count of 3, ignore last 7 days
  • Occasional: Last 90 days, evaluated fourth, minimum donation count of 1, ignore last 7 days
  • None: Last 90 days, evaluated last, minimum donation count of 0, ignore last 7 days
