Recreating Annual Pledges

If your church tracks pledges that renew annually (for example, missionary support or orphan sponsorship), follow the steps below to copy your pledge campaign for the new year.
 
Phase 1: Copy the Pledge Campaign and Pledges
  1. Open a Pledge Campaign record on the Pledge Campaigns page.
  2. Click Copy.
  3. Check the Pledges box to ensure all Pledge records are copied as well.
  4. Edit the new Pledge Campaign record (Tip: rename it for clarity).
 
Phase 2: Delete any copied Pledges that were discontinued in the prior year
Why? Phase 1 copies all of the Pledges from the original Pledge Campaign. You may have some that didn't need to be copied because they were discontinued during the previous year. 
  1. Go to Stewardship > Pledges.
  2. Clear any existing selections.
  3. Select the discontinued (copied) Pledge records that are associated with the new Pledge Campaign:
    • BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO SELECT PLEDGES FROM THE OLD PLEDGE CAMPAIGN.
    • You could run a report to make sure none of the selected Pledges have any donations assigned to them.
  4. Launch the Delete tool and delete these discontinued Pledges.
Phase 3:  Updating dates on the new (copied) Pledges
  1. Go to Stewardship > Pledges.
  2. Clear any existing selections.
  3. Select the remaining (copied) Pledge records that are associated with the new Pledge Campaign:
    • BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO SELECT PLEDGES FROM THE OLD PLEDGE CAMPAIGN.
    • You could even run a report to make sure none of the selected pledges have any donations assigned to them.
  4. Use Assign tool to give them new start and end dates.
